Dan grading 
York – come for the judo, stay to visit the beautiful city!

Venue is close to York train station and on the excellent Park & Ride route.
Gents
Separate senior and veterans (30+) grading events for 1st kyus and for all dan grades (1st to 4th dan)
Veteran men in the morning,  senior men in the afternoon.
Ladies
With enough entries we’ll look to run separate senior and veterans grading for you too.
Ladies are generally first to get on to the mat at this event,  enjoy an afternoon in York afterwards!
History
Originally set up as part of a BJA initiative, ‘Widening The Market’ this event aimed to promote & develop Female, Veteran and Youth Dan Gradings to increase opportunities and participation.
It has grown every year since with the last one in this format attracting 94.
This grading has been running on this weekend for at least 15 years and has built a strong attendance. As a result it is established in many club calendars leading many attendees to return year after year.
We regularly see attendees travelling from all over the UK, including Scotland and Wales.
