NHC Kata Weekend – Ju-no-kata & Katame-no-kata – 2 Aug 26 – Wokingham

About the Event

The aim of this course is to introduce players to Juno-no-kata (Forms of gentleness). It consists in three sets of 5 techniques each.
This is a British Judo Association Licensed Coach Education Course which is worth one credit. All applicants must hold a current FULL BJA (or affiliated body) membership & be a minimum grade of 3rd Kyu (Green Belt). Ideally you would attend with a partner to practice with, however we will endeavour to pair up individuals who attend the course.
Katame no Kata was developed at the Kodokan between 1884 and 1887 following the development of the Nage no Kata. It is composed of three groups of grappling techniques each with five representative techniques. Katame-no-kata consists of 15 techniques, grouped in three categories:

 Osaekomi-waza (holding or pinning techniques)
 Shime-waza (strangulation techniques)
 Kansetsu-waza (Joint techniques (locks)
